Even in a pandemic scenario of global uncertainties, Brazilian exports of arabica and robusta coffee are heated. In April, total shipments (green, roasted and soluble coffee) totaled 3.3 million 60 kg bags, according to the Council of Coffee Exporters. Despite the volume being 4% lower than that shipped in March, there was an increase of 2.5% in relation to April / 19. Specifically regarding green coffee (Arabica and Robusta), the volume totaled 2.99 million bags in April, up 1.5% in one year. With the increase in purchases from consumer countries and uncertainties regarding logistics, demand for the commodity increased and some contracts were anticipated by buyers, who feared a possible shortage of coffee in the shifting and offsetting consumption behavior.
