Most of the seafood produced in Mexico is supplied to the domestic market as most restaurants, snack shops and the hospitality and tourism sector remain in lockdown due to the outbreak of covid19 the demand for seafood has contracted. This has impacted the fishermen and suppliers severely by putting downward pressure on the price due to the mismatch in supply and demand.
