One of the worst droughts is expected to make North Africa the world's largest buyer of grain. The low rainfall until mid-April has clouded Morocco's grain harvest prospects this year, with harvests in neighbouring countries such as Egypt also suffering. Declining local supply could boost region wheat purchases by 7.4% to a record of 29.7 million tonnes in the year starting in July.
