A strange viral outbreak has caused the deaths of tilapia in fish farms along the Volta Lake, Ghana. To curtail the loss, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture in Ghana has begun mass immunization of fish farms in farms where the virus and organisms that caused the outbreak was found.
There are fears that the outbreaks could wipe out farms if not handled well and lead to economic and social losses.
