Producers and traders of fresh tomato in Benin republic are currently looking for new markets as new regulations with Nigeria does not allow for export in to the country through the land borders. Tomato producers in Houéyiho, one of the major vegetable production settlements in Benin have reduced production by 75% to avoid spoilage until the re-opening of the border with the Nigerian government.
