Turkish sweet cherry is one of the most important fresh produce exports of Turkey and it is in high demand in Europe this season due to its high quality and taste.
Currently, the farm gate price is around 4 USD per kg and most of the export orders are coming from Germany, the Netherlands. Turkish sweet cherry exporters have also started exporting to Norway and Denmark this season.
Spain and Italy have lost a significant part of its production due to the Covid19 outbreak which enabled Turkish growers to increase their market share in the European markets.
