During the monsoon season (June to August), almost all the Myanmar marine suppliers stopped fishing and farming. They slowed down the processing plants as well as their cold storage. The government also banned fishing in the sea, river, and lake during these periods. The price of marine products increased for these months as suppliers had low production and also needed to keep stock and spend more energy on facilities. By the statistics of 2018-2019, the price in 2019 rose average 40% more than in 2018 during the monsoon season.
