Moringa powder demanded by cosmetic manufacturers

Aside from its traditional usage as ingredients for food seasonings and medicine, moringa leaves or moringa powder is also being demanded by international cosmetics manufacturers. From November 2019 to February 2020, the demand for moringa powder reached 30 MT, with Germany as the leading importer for this commodity from Indonesia. The moringa powder would mostly be utilized as an ingredient to make various cosmetic products. So far, most of the raw moringa leaves have been sourced from smallholder farmers in Nusa Tenggara province, especially in Lombok and Sumba islands, where this plant is grown and produced on a massive scale.
