Malaysia is one of the countries that grow tea, especially in the highlands. With an area of tea plantation exceeding 3000 ha, almost 95% is owned by the private plantation sector. Although Malaysia can produce more than 15k MT/year, it can only cater to less than 50% of local demand. Malaysia imports the rest from different types and countries every year
