For Georgian hazelnut producers and exporters, it is quite difficult to supply hazelnuts of the required quality to buyers in Italy. Therefore, they often look for markets in other countries, such as Russia and Ukraine, where the requirements for hazelnut quality are not so high. As for European buyers, they prefer hazelnuts from Turkey.
