Strawberry exports from Silifke, Turkey delight growers

Strawberry harvest continues at the Silifke district of Mersin where the strawberry production area is around 1,500 hectares. Growers expect around 4 tons of products per 1,000 square meters and the total production yield expected this season is 60 kmt.

Currently the farmgate price for the domestic market is around 1.1 USD and for the export market around 1.25 USD per kg. The products are mainly exported to Russia and Iraq.
