Due to the high COVID-19 infection rate in Brazil, coffee growers are particularly worried about the upcoming harvest season, especially whether will be sufficient labor force to harvest the coffee beans.

It is calculated that for the total harvest of the coffee in Brazil, more than 150.000 workers are needed. This becomes particularly complex when so many social distancing restrictions are in place, especially when you need to have this mass of people moving across the country to harvest.

This situation is also causing worry among Australian importers of Brazilian coffee beans as the lower supply may push up the import prices.
