The agricultural and tourism sector in the Cameron Highlands of Pahang, worth RM 1.4 billion per year, is now at risk because of the COVID 19 outbreak. Market demand has fallen sharply as many markets have closed or the number of employees, cafes or food outlets has been reduced and people have even had to sit at home to comply with the Movement Control Regulation (MCO). Farmers produce 800 tons of vegetables per day, but only 30% are available for sale.
