Fresh produce demand pulling back in US

After an initial surge in fresh produce sales at the retail level through the beginning of March, demand has pulled back significantly. Coronavirus concerns caused consumers to panic-buy and stock up on fruits and vegetables as fears peaked in the first half of March, but multiple suppliers have reported a decrease in demand through the end of March and beginning of April. Suppliers remain uncertain on the longer-term effects on demand and prices as the length of social distancing and lockdown measures remain unknown.
