Local logistics cost increased significantly in India

Freight rates - trucks and lorries - for inter-state and inter-city logistics for essential and agricultural product supplies have risen by 30%.
The increase in logistics cost has been due to fewer number of trucks available, constraints in operating trucks in the current environment with strict policing, and general lockdown restrictions.
Another factor is that many drivers and support staff are not ready to operate interstate driving due to fear of security agencies/police checks and actions.
