The grain markets in Northern Nigeria remains on lockdown as a result of directives to curb the spread of the COVID-19. Open markets are only allowed to operate on Wednesdays. The very few farmers who are able to trade set their prices above market prices as a result of current scarcity in the availability of agricultural commodities in Nigeria. Open markets are facing limitations in supply as a result of disruption in local logistics.
