Growers expect good potato yield, traders and processors ask for lower prices in Bulgaria

Bulgarian potato growers are expecting good production yield of 1,800 kg per 1000 square meters this season. Growers are willing to offer their potato production at farmgate price levels of €0.36 - €0.51 per kg whereas traders and processors respectively are offering to set the price level a little lower at €0.20 - €0.36 per kg. The suppliers are anticipating large importation of potatoes to arrive from Poland due to which the prices are expected to decline.
