Bulgaria's wild mountain herbs exports consist of around 10 KMT per year which is a third less compared to the exports a decade ago.
Measures taken by official authorities against the Covid-19 pandemic have impeded mountain harvesters from going to desired spots for picking the right and quality herbs this year.
Wild nettle and linden flowers are the most popular herbs that find a large clientele in Europe, France, and Germany in particular.
Last year dried linden flower farmgate prices were around €7.00 per kg while the fresh was around €1.50 per kg. This year's farmgate prices are yet to be announced as the global pandemic is expected to impact the prices upwards.
