A number of farmers stated that bait-size milkfish is chosen due to the fact that the supply of this fish in the market is relatively high, and it is easy to get as it can be bought from the traditional markets or directly from the milkfish suppliers at a highly affordable price. The bait-size milkfish is also chosen since one fish can be used to feed 2-3 crabs, keeping the production cost low.
