As prices of Rice spike in Asian countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic Tanzania Rice exporters have identified an opportunity to aggressively sell and export to neighbouring countries just ahead of the season. South African Rice importing countries like DRC Congo are slowly suffering from high Rice prices in Asia making it hard for them to keep on sourcing from Asia and instead turn to neighbouring Rice producing countries like Tanzania whose 2020 harvests will fully kick in in early May.
