This 2020 is a bad year for jackfruits growers and exporters in Myanmar. In late December of 2019, the jackfruit plantation regions suffered lower temperatures than usual with climate change. This resulted in lower production of the overall jackfruits. And then, the key Myanmar jackfruit importing countries such as China and Malaysia did not buy products from Myanmar in March due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Due to the higher supply in the domestic market, the price is currently 20-30% lower than the normal price.
