Divers in the Akcakoca district in the Black Sea region handpick snails from the sea year-round as the products are in high demand in export markets.
The exporters note that the annual export volume is around 600 tons and the handpicked snails are first processed in the facilities of exporters and then are sold to the Far East countries.
