Farmers in Zambia are now switching from growing Tobacco to Avocado and Pecan nuts citing frustrations in Tobacco farming. Production of Avocado in the country is congested in the Southern Region where high volume harvests are expected to peak in the next 3 years.

Zambia is among the top five tobacco leaf growing countries in Africa and its production is said to be an important contributor to the country's economy in terms of labour and revenue generation.
