The soybean harvest is beginning in a complicated scenario: its price increased
close to 8% in the last two weeks and ended March at u$ 325/tn (a rise of between 10 and 15 dollars a ton). However, a volatile context led prices to hit a monthly low of u$ 301 on March 16th.
It is very difficult to clearly predict whether the uptrend will continue throughout the season. In fact, on April 1st, it dropped by almost 3%.
Demand for soybeans, wheat, and corn have risen amid the coronavirus situation, as consumers have increased the purchase of processed foods elaborated from these grains and cereals. As a side effect, there has been an increase in other foods such as meat, dairy products, and eggs, due to the fact that animals are fed on these products.
