A 10% Yield Loss Is Expected in Corn Production in Turkiye in the 2023 Season

In Turkiye, elevated temperatures during corn pollination resulted in a projected 10% year-on-year (YoY) decrease in yield for 2023. Despite an expansion in corn cultivation, the yield is expected to only increase from 2.45 million metric tons (mmt) in 2022 to 2.8 mmt in 2023, indicating a lower-than-expected yield growth relative to the expanded cultivation area.
