A Brazilian rice processor from the state of Sao Paulo is bringing two large loads of rice from Thailand to cover its second grade branded rice needs until the beginning of the harvest season in February. They acquired one load from ADM and the other load from Glencore. Due to the inferior quality of Thai rice, it can only be sold as second grade rice in Brazil. As for the first grade product, they considered Paraguayan rice a better fit, which resembles the Brazilian standard. The supplier is a Brazilian group established in Paraguay, which Brazil has been sourcing from since a few years back.
