The Philippine government went into an agreement with the Brazilian government with regard to the desiccated coconut tariff protection. The 55% imposed by Brazil on Philippine desiccated coconuts has been decided to be lowered. Bilateral trade improvements and reciprocity have been discussed by the two countries as well, especially now during the COVID-19 pandemic. By lowering the tariff rate to more or less 10% just like the one imposed on other countries, Brazil would be able to have easy access. On the contrary, it would mean the increased export of the Philippine desiccated coconut.
