In Morocco the season for corn starts from mid-October to mid-December and from mid-April to mid-June. Because of its shelf life of approximately 21 days, the harvested corn is exported mainly to Europe. The shipments are either made by sea with an average transit time of 7 days or by trucks with a delivery time of 2-3 days for southern Europe and 4-5 days for the northern. Shipments to the USA by air are so expensive which impact the final landing price and this way the Moroccan exporters prefer Europe.
