The peanut harvest of the new crop in Argentina is complete. Despite the heavy frosts Argentina faced, the quality of peanuts is good. Unfortunately, the rains did affect the maturity of the crop, decreasing the availability of jumbo and splits peanuts. The Argentinian crop production and exports are forecasted to drop by 16% this season. The decrease in production plus the increasing production costs will result in an overall price increase for the 2022 crop. Forecasts indicate that the peanut planting area in Argentina will drop by 10-20% in 2023 due to the high land rent.
