The 34.5M tons of maize exported during the period of January-October 2020, have generated revenues for USD 5.5B, totaling a growth of 8% compared to the same period of last year.
As for the main buyers, Vietnam is leading with a 22% share of the overall 2020 Maize exports, followed by Egypt (10%) and then Algeria (9%). The Córdoba Stock Exchange also elaborated a report tracking the average price of Maize during the first ten months of 2020 which was USD 162/ton. This is the lowest value in the last thirteen years, exhibiting a reduction of 2% compared to 2019 and U$D 8/ton below the average Maize price of the last five years.
Nevertheless, since July, where the average prices were close to USD 154/ton, they have shown an interesting recovery reaching USD 171/ton by last October.
