Moroccan avocado production has been negatively affected by the drought, with growers expecting at least a 30% decrease in production volume compared to the 2021/22 season. The strong winds experienced in June also affected the flowering of avocado trees, contributing to the decrease in production. Many young avocado orchards will not yet be productive in the 2022/23 season.

The size of the fruit is still small in W37 and producers recommend starting exports around 15 October, 2022, especially after the first rains to ensure the correct size.
The domestic Moroccan market remains an interesting market for the sale of avocado, as Moroccan consumers buy avocado regardless of high market prices.
