During Week 4, Mexican avocado prices in the United States (US) experienced a downward trend towards the end of the week. The market volatility is attributed to the upcoming Super Bowl event in US, leading to increased volumes at the border crossing. The FOB McAllen prices for a 25-pound box are as follows:
32s: USD 42 to USD 47
36s: USD 40 to USD 42
40s: USD 34 to USD 37
48s: USD 34 to USD 35.5
60s: USD 32 to USD 33.5
70s: USD 23 to USD 24.5
84s: USD 18 to USD 20
In the upcoming week, prices are expected to decrease as more harvest volume is anticipated to enter the market from Michoacan and Jalisco.
