Most multinational companies emphasize the reduced chemicals in the production of most foods, especially bananas. This is especially emphasized in exports in countries like Korea and Japan. In addressing this standard of lesser chemical application, a practice called Bad Tube practice has been used in the cultivation of the Banana plant. This practice involves covering banana bells and banana flowers during cultivation in order to prevent insects from accessing the banana fruits. Presently the majority of banana plantations across Mindanao use this method for cultivating the banana plant.
