With the Biological and Biotechnical Control Support Payment Application in Plant Production, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will provide financial support for producers in the greenhouse engaged in biological and biotechnical control to reduce the use of chemical pesticides. This scope of support is included for producers of tomato, pepper, eggplant, cucumber, zucchini, apricot, quince, pear, apple, olive, citrus, pomegranate, peach, and nectarine. From time to time, pesticide residue problems are experienced in exports from Turkey. A total of 209 active pesticide substances have been banned in Turkey since 2008. In 2022, seven more pesticide active substances were added to this list.
