Several plants in Brazil stopped slaughters during W51, which helped to decompress the situation in China due to the reduced market demand. In W51, there has been more activity in the market and requests from imports to close deals, speculating that easing measures will allow alleviating the bulging beef stocks in Chinese cold chambers. Some distributors had to close due to COVID cases, leading to delays in some payments. Regular customers are not making new purchases, although new agents are interested in closing deals. Prices in Brazil for FFQ 7 cuts ranged at USD 5,100-5,200/ton CFR in W51, and round cuts around USD 5,500- 5,600/ton CFR, but many bids have arrived below those values.
