The government of Hong Kong reported that samples of chicken meat imported from Brazil tested negative for COVID-19, according to a statement released on Thursday, 20, on the website of the Food Security Center (CFS) of the country.
“In view of a warning issued by the Shenzhen Coronavirus Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters that a sample of chicken wing surface imported from Brazil tested positive for COVID-19, the CFS had collected a total of 40 meat samples frozen chicken imported from Brazil wholesale and retail for testing of COVID-19 as a precautionary measure. All samples were negative for the virus ”, said the CFS, in the note.
The tests were done as a "preventive measure", according to the health agency.
