Vietnamese Rice Exports Maintain Strong Annual Performance in 2023, Surpassing 8 Million Tons and Achieving Record-High Value Despite a Drop in Dec-23

According to General Department of Customs statistics, Vietnamese rice exports in Dec-23 amounted to 492.38 tons, valued at nearly USD 339 million. These figures reflect an 18% month-on-month (MoM) decrease in volume and a 15.4% MoM decline in value.
Despite this monthly dip, Vietnam's cumulative rice export performance in 2023 was remarkable, reaching a total volume of 8.131 million tons and a value of nearly USD 4.7 billion. This signifies a notable surge of 14.4% year-over-year (YoY) in volume and an impressive 35.3% YoY increase in value. Notably, this achievement stands as the highest export result in Vietnam's rice industry history.
