In W41, the presence of a cabbage worm, which feeds on very young plants, causing them to wilt and eventually die, was confirmed in Yuma, AZ. The insect affects cabbage and kale plants, which have been direct-seeded for winter harvest. Although the finds are sporadic, the concern is that if a solution is not found quickly, the insects could spread and damage most of the plants before harvest.
