Canadian green and yellow pea prices converge

Compared to last years' drastic price difference between green peas and white peas, $11.15/bushel and $2/bushel respectively, 2021 green and yellow pea prices are averaging between $8.25-9.75/bushel. The cause for yellow peas price increase is attributed to hog feed demand from China as the country rebuilds supply from African Swine Fever, while increased production has relieved supply-side pressure for green peas.
