Cardamom production expected to reach 30,000 MT, putting the cap on prices

As per exporters estimates, India’s production for the current marketing year 2021-22, which started from 1st August officially, expected around 30,000 MT put the cap on prices. Last year production was around 23,000 MT.An expectations of increasing production in the current marketing year, cardamom buyers are inactive in the spot market at higher prices levels. Second round picking activity is going on in Kerala growing regions, and it will finish till the end of October. Third round picking activity is likely to start from mid November. As on 15th November, Cardamom prices moving at USD 15.56 per kg FOB Chennai.
