According to the Specialized Committee for Nuts and Roasted Seeds of China National Food Industry Association (CNSA), 80% of China's cashew nut consumption relies on imports. For 12 years, Vietnam has been the top exporter, the total annual import quantity in China is around 48K MT, and the average import price is USD 6.5K/MT in 2021, which has had a decreasing trend since 2018. China has cashew nut planting in Hannan, Yunnan, Guanxi, and Guangdong. However, the yield is limited to meet the local demand. China will have to continue importing cashew nuts to fulfill demand.
