The chum salmon fishery in the Amur region of Russia officially started operating from the 20th of August. According to the quota, 2.7KMT is set for commercial fishing. However, due to bad weather, fisheries are afraid of not filling their quota in time. Due to lasting storms and floods over the past 10 days, the catch has been turbulent in the Ayano-Maisky and Okhotsk regions. Fisheries expected that the catch period, which usually lasts until the end of August or mid-September, will likely be extended.
