Delay in a pending shipment of sheep from Australia has caused a shortage in the meat market and an increase in meat prices in Kuwait. High meat prices are also due to the ban on Iranian sheep meat imports right before the COVID - 19 outbreak as well as the lack of supply of local sheep breeds. However, the main reason behind high meat prices is because of delayed Australian shipments which are large in quantities and sufficient to meet the local demand.
