Downtrend Price of Spring Lettuce During W7 in the Japanese Market

The harvest season for the spring lettuce from northeast Tokyo started, and the selling price in the Tokyo market started to decline. In W7, spring lettuce supply from such areas increased by 67% WoW in the Tokyo market, and the price dropped from USD 2.28/kg to 1.83/kg. Until the sharp increase of spring lettuce in W7, the price had been rising since the end of January under a lingering cold wave. It hit USD 2.35/kg in W6, which started at USD 1.86/kg in W5.
