Dried fruits and nuts exports from Iran doubled in 8 months

Iranian dried fruit and nut exports have increased in value almost by 100% and 71% in volumes during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, between March 20 - November 20.

The total dried fruit and nut exports were at 133,7 KMT generating $833 million in revenue compared to 67 KMT in the same period last year. The main export product for the period was pistachio with about 95% of the total exports.

The annual domestic consumption of pistachio is around 35-45 KMT which makes around 20% of the total production in Iran.

Together with pistachio, dates, and raisins were the other major export items during the mentioned period.
