In Greece, the consumption of exotics fruits such as limes, mango, papaya, and passion fruit is almost down 50% YoY in 2023 due to lower tourist volumes. The anticipated number of tourists has not arrived, with low numbers in May and June, and fewer bookings for the main vacation months of July and August. The high inflation levels experienced across the world has significantly reduced spending on vacations. Resultantly, the decreased volume of tourists is having a negative impact on exotic fruit consumption in Greece.
