Summer in Thailand started early with a storm. Since the middle of February, it had fallen in Thailand around 20%-30% of all area. The Thai Meteorological Department has predicted to have a "Summer Storm" between 5-8 March 2022, which might have falling rain in every part of Thailand.

Accordingly, it already affected Thai fruits such as mango, which is waiting for harvesting. Black mold is found on mangoes' skin, caused by humidity. Usually, this defect will be solved using black fungicide but will also affect mangoes' skin when they mature. Some growers will get rid of rotten fruits away to wait for a new generation.

The productivity of mango spreadly affects both Central and Eastern areas, which gradually have adult fruits for harvesting. Also, their quality is not good enough for export to Japan and Korea. Some of them were inspected for export to Singapore and Malaysia. For the rest, they will be sold in a local market like Talaad Thai and Si Moom Muang.

The price for export to Japan and Korea will still be continuously high. The NAMD DOK MAI Class I CIF Narita airport price is USD 7.89 per kg.
