Tuna exports, especially canned tuna, to Egypt, and some markets in the Middle East are showing positive signs. The demand for tuna has excellent growth in recent years. According to the VASEP report, in the first 9 months of the year exports to Egypt accounted for 2.29% of Vietnam's total tuna exports and rank 2nd to the Israeli market in the Middle East - Africa, where there are the largest tuna importers in the region.

Egypt imports tuna mainly from Thailand with a market share of nearly 80%. Despite ranking 2nd, Vietnam only accounts for 5.6% of the market share. Thus, Vietnam's potential for tuna export is still very large, especially in this COVID-19 era. Many other seafood items such as frozen shrimp or mackerel, canned salmon, will also have a great opportunity.
