Published Dec 9, 2024
Egyptian fresh strawberry season started slowly, with high initial prices of USD 16 per 2.5-kilogram (kg) box, limiting demand. As production volumes rose and the market saturated, prices dropped by over 40% month-on-month (MoM) to around USD 9/2.5-kg box, better aligning with market expectations. Following this adjustment, demand has recovered, and exports to key markets, including Europe, the Far East, and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, have strengthened.
