After a slow start to the lemon season in Egypt due to limited early production and stiff competition from Turkish lemons in Europe, demand has surged recently, driven by higher production and increased interest from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Gulf countries. While demand has not yet peaked, the volume of moving containers has increased over the last few weeks compared to early Oct-24. Although the market is still lower than last season's levels, it is expected to rise further as more farms come into production and prices decrease. As of W44, Egyptian lemons prices stood at USD 13.5 to 15 per kilogram (kg) carton.
